2015 CANADIAN STORIES contest

October 15, 2015

CANADIAN STORIES is an illustrated literary folk magazine that features “family stories, personal experiences and memories of the past.”  Launched in 1997, the magazine is the labour of love of Editor and Publisher, Ed Janzen and his wife Susan.  This fall, Ed jumped into the electronic age with a new publication called Story Quilt.

For the past 7 years, CANADIAN STORIES has run a short story, poetry and black and white line art contest, with cash prizes donated by volunteer sponsors. This year, Valerie McDonald won 1st Honourable Mention in the Bruno Penner Fiction Prize category for her story, “The Santa Present.” Get your copy by subscription or at one of over 40 bookstores that carries CANADIAN STORIES. A hearty thanks to Ed and Bruno for supporting Canadian stories of all sorts!
