Hard work pays off! Again!

April 3, 2014

Alison Colvin modestly credits luck, but hard work and talent have paid off for her again. Her story, Mucking About was long-listed for the Fish Short Memoir Contest, judged by Dermot Healy.

Fish is an independent publishing company based in Ireland that works to encourage and promote new writers. They offer critique and editorial consultation services and online writing courses. Fish runs four annual international writing contests for short story, poetry, flash fiction and memoir. The winners of these contests are awarded cash prizes and publication in the annual Fish Anthology. Alison’s story was one of 310 memoirs chosen from 1, 085 submissions. You can read her story in Canadian Stories Magazine.
